I want a traction control switch!

hi i'm hoping someone can help me here,
i have the vec b z22se but have no TC button which i really want, now i've spend ages looking on the forum and can't find the help i need, don't know whether its just me being stupid and blind but can't find the thread i need lol :wtf: . i have the button but i need the wiring loom and i need to now what i'm doing with it, any help on where to get the loom and how to fit would be much appreciated.

thanks mate is that guide for the Astra or vec or does it not matter? and also whats the trim panel part required? on the vectra the tc button live below the heated seat button i think

unsure on a vectra tbh have never looked to see there position . pretty sure the wiring will be the same . hopefully a vectra owner will come along and let ya know what the crack is with the trim panel

Thanks for posting this thread...its finally convinced me to go and do mine - had the kit sat on my shelf since November lol....

Took less than an hour incuding fiddling around and a dizzy spell (lying upside down in the footwell = fail) - had to splice in to the wire for pin 31 but is otherwise all good. The tractin light turns on and off with the switch so i'm happy 🙂

Will see how it feels later - should be a good test as its been raining quite heavily...

right i've only just got round to installing the TC button, now it seems like its working i.e. the button lights up when the main lights are turned on, when sitting on the drive with either engine turned on or off the TC light in the dash turns on and off when button is pressed, but it doesn't seem right the TC light in dash will still turn on and off when button is supposedly active! i thought it would stay turned on when button is active, and when not active the dash light come on when TC is kicking in.
can anyone shed some light on this for me please?
Oh and also when i press the button whilst driving i noticed the speedo pin will drop slightly then go back to the correct speed, does the factory fitted 1 do that?

if you have shorted a few wires whilst the engine is running the TC ecu will go into limp mode and even though the button will put the light on and off the TC will not actually turn off

i had to reset the codes with my reader to actually get the TC to turn off from using the button

so be warned !

right so i need to plug it into an obd2 reader and do what?

right so in other words plug it into a obd2 reader clear the faults and i should be able to turn it on and off? you'll have to bare with me i need things spelled out to me lol

just been down to vauxhalls and they said that if it never had a TC button installed, it would never work untill the car is plugged into a tech2 machine for the ecu to be programmed. £40 session about an hour long, so be warned it will cost you £40 as well as the price of the button to get a TC button, not a quick cheap mod but still good.

No Tech2 required for this mod. See link that I posted above for full detail as to how to do this mod. The button is about £15 IIRC. Your own time is free.

Thats the guide that i used, and i followed it to the T, i'm very vigilant when it comes to messing round with wires, maybe different year vectra b's have different model ABS and traction control units because this mod definitely ain't working on my car. TC will not turn off.
