in the end i left it mate. just ran her and hoped the bits have burnt away.
so far so good (except now the alternator has gone! lol)
but cheers for the offer mate. will keep it in mind if i decide to remove it anyway.
actually.......quick question. as you look at the inlet manifold on the car, what is the spring bit on the right hand side, its near the bottom.
