u taken off the throttle body and had a look inside ?

yeah, cant see the o ring in there. but could it be further in? also, it might be on top of the valve or something.

and its filthy anyway. lol give it a good clean!

also, is there a easy way to tell if it has had the chain and nozzle things done?

Not a chance mate. The whole side of the engine has to be stripped off to access the nozzel and chain.

cause im not sure that has been done!! it had a new engine in few years ago, 2004 i think. trying to find receipts. see if it was mentioned in there. engine has done about 60000 miles now.

thats probably something else im gonna have to fork out for soon. which is why im gonna have to seriously think if its worth saving this one, or cutting my losses and get another one and put good bits on new one and sell everything else!

Whatever Vectra z22se you buy, unless you have written proof, it will have to old style oil nozzle. All Vectra B z22se left the building with small nozzles. Chances are, if the engine was replaced in 2004 it may have had the new style kit but there's no guarantee.

thats what i thought! might call the bloke i bought it from. see if he knows. cause it was him that had the engine put in.

I would advise to get a Haynes manual, removing the inlet manifold is quite easy but having the instructions written down is much easier the first time

have you tried turning the engine over by the crank bolt ?

the exhaust putty may have exited the engine already

that might not be so good if the putty has left the engine already, then it will be stuck in my cat?

this is the invoice when he got new engine in. you think its done? bit gobble dee gook to me lol

I would suggest that its been done looking at that. The 50% Goodwill Gesture is the indication there. It went in for the timing chain investigation failure. I would take it from that its been done. Call Vauxhall tomorrow on the number on the receipt and quuote them the Case Number and they'll have all the details on their system.

just called the garage that did the engine swap. says it doesnt say spercifically that it was done. he reackons that the fact that the engine was new in 2005, it would have the nozzle modification already.

is that true? i thought that they would have it on record if it had the new ones.

just spoke to my local garage, vx speacalist, and he thinks my engine will be fine. the exhaust putty will break down and pass through no problems. and the rubber o ring will just melt and dissapear too.

does this sound right to you?

The rubber o ring will just melt, i have heard of people using carb cleaner and loosing the small pipe off the end and had no issues. I would have thought though the exhaust putty would go hard with the heat and prob block in the cat.

thats what i thought about the cat. as the putty is designed to go rock hard in heat.

i've just recently put a 200 cell sports cat on, £400, so dont want to ruin that. any way of checking to see if it has done any damage to it?
