As a few people showed some interest, I thought I'd copy over all the relevant bits from my ICE project thread over on Vectra-c.com. This will be very pic heavy, sorry, I'm a real pic whore when it comes to my installs.

I've been working on this install for a long time now, bits and bobs as I can afford them. I'm getting married in June so at the moment any and all spare cash is heading that way, however, the story so far.

Now, when I picked this car up it was a serious bargain, I paid just under £4k for it (ex police surveillance car, full police service history, 47k on the clock) a couple of years ago now, I knew it was going to need a few bits of plastic inside but let's just say I'd underestimated it. I replaced every scratched/broken/paint picked off bit of plastic and to date have spent nearly £700 on bits of plastic trim, which blew my new head unit budget completely and I ended up fitting a temporary old Alpine unit in that I had floating around in storage. I won't bother showing pics of that part of the install as it didnt stay in very long, I saved like a looney and got the new head unit as quickly as I could. So this will be a shortened version of my other thread with all the relevant bits in it. 🙂

So, after replacing all those bits of plastic and trim, I was left with this..

Having bought the double din puller keys and a head unit adaptor plate in advance off I went. Out came the head unit and the old cage.

The lovely shiny new Alpine unit, with all it's various wiring looms.

And the fitting kit and fascia plate required to make it fit the Vectra dash.

The hole where it's all gonna go (showing the scotch locks I used to temporarily hook the new front speakers (see next post) up to the unit direct until I get the amps installed).
