Hi folks. My 2004 Zafira seems to lose fuel pressure within 30 mins of switching off. No fuel squirts out of the Schrader valve and it takes a few seconds of churning to get it started. No signs of any leaks anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it is losing pressure? Is there a check valve anywhere (maybe in the fuel pump itself)? Should the fuel pump run to pressurise the system when the ignition is switched on?
On a slightly different matter I notice that there is no vacuum being applied to the fuel pressure regulator at idle. The hose is intact and leak tight but there is no vacuum on the connecting point into the inlet hose from the air filter. Should there be? I can't see how there could be really as the connection point seems to be before and idle valve or throttle body.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Cheers.
