the z22se crank was dropped of at andrews precision for knife edging and balancing friday

done some more on this engine yesterday
fitted a z22se carnk sensor and oil pressure switch then tapped the holes that will be used for the supercharger bracket and knock sensor

stripped the head of all valves

collecting the parts

plenty of gasket left on there lol

after a quick clean it shows that this is a head that will need a skim

only because the cylinder seal of the head gasket has left a mark lower than the surface and cant be removed manually

you should offer a exchange/fitting service,

polished n ported n fitted and exchange heads lol

nope this is the saab head for jons build keep your eyes off it lol

i do have 2 z22se heads but need to strip them and check them out before porting work and i will do an exchange/fitting when i have time :)

that is to much work lol dropping the engine and subframe each time lol

was bored today after yet again not getting the brake lines in the post so i made and engine dolly to get the engines in and out of the bat cave easier :)

im thinking of building a spit roast for the mini but might just buy 1 yet. so i can turn it upside down.

how long do u think this engine will take?

thanks it was just thrown together lol

i looked at a rollover jig looks easy to make or just roll it on to a mattress lol

this engine is to be ready and installed before november when both mine and jons car go to cs for mapping

no mines not finished lol :) but should be by that time

i ordered mine from newsstand website not got them yet tho

oh thought about £50 around our end is about average

are you going with a thicker head gasket or wont u need to?
it will just be a standard saab gasket or cometic mls gasket the piston will be 8.9:1 so no need to go with a thicker gasket
when i called i told him the head was stripped and i just wanted a skim he said there not busy atm and £25 would do it lol

when we used to rebuild the EVO challenge rally cars we allways used standard mitsubishi head gaskets and pistons etc

and they were running silly power and and high octain fuel.

yes but with an evo all you had to do was fit stronger arp conrod bolts to go upto 400hp :) the bolts were £80 the fitting at ralliart dudley was £2800 lol
i made enquiries before i bought my evo they made the 260hp import the same as the 280 and 300hp by just changing the bolts and upping the boost lol
