So as a follow up, Took the head back to the machine shop where they agreed that there was p**s poor sealing on one and three exhaust. They pulled the valves but they were not bent, nothing wrong with them. Much scratching of heads ensued and turns out the FAI lifters were s**t. Swapped all eight exhaust lifters back for the old ones and she fired first time. The intakes all got smashed when the chain jumped.
Ok so we've run it for a bit and the 'new' ones are a bit "clicky" so I not sure what to do now. Leave them all in , pull them all out. Walk away seems a good option right now !!
