with the sump off and the head off (now at the machine shop getting skimmed) pulled the #1 piston
the extra play had let it go up enough to touch the head cracking the piston ring lands

build the new hoist up this morning me and dad had some fun with the big kids meccano set lol
it was very useful for getting the engine out
WP_20180104_16_21_59_Pro.jpg

amazing work! wish I had the time :( its a brand new engine! did it set your mate back a lot for parts and stuff?
not having a real job anymore gives me alot more time than im used to :)
i should of put i bought the car after my friend saw it forsale and messaged me to say it was online
so far its cost me head gasket, head bolts, piston rings, valve seals, crank seals, can of gunk foam, spark plugs, oil filter and a 5l tub of 5/30 everything else was off the shelf and scrubbing by hand lol

nice! saw it on YouTube didn't I. one of these days im going to strip it all down like that.

on another note the oil filter squashing is easily done. I've done it myself before:facepalm:

I'll drop in if im coming over your way and you can show me how it's done! ;)

it is on youtube :)
the filter is squished from being full of gunk and the oil pressure has collapsed it
lessons are now charged at an hourly rate lol

high pressure fuel pump was leaking so stripped it down
WP_20180111_19_52_07_Pro.jpg

pressure relief needed a slot cut to remove the pig ring
WP_20180111_20_14_19_Pro.jpg

after cleaning new ATF oil inside
WP_20180111_20_23_22_Pro.jpg

some people drill holes in the pump just flip the pump and use vacuum to fill it simples the small syringes for making vape juice came in handy after all :)
WP_20180111_20_44_59_Pro.jpg

fuel pressure requested 5000kpa actual 5000kpa
WP_20180111_21_35_43_Pro.jpg

after a test drive it's now not leaking oil on top of the gearbox
