Soft Top Roof Care

Hi all.

Ive just bought another z22se astra. This time its a manual with a soft top bought for £1150. European blue with blue roof. Ill post another thread with pics/info when i get some pics done.

My Q is whats best to treat the soft roof as its meant to be blue but previous owners lacked in the care dept and left it. Every now and then at certain angles/light conditions you can see the blue shine thru, but on closer look you see black and other unsightly colours.

On Amy's old Smart, I used Meguiars APC to clean it with, and give it a good scrub with a brush.

Just had a look at the autoglym kit - looks good on the video. Also halfords have it too so with my trade card should get a quid or 2 off hehe

Well I bought the autoglym kit today and had a bash at it. Tried a sample area first then done the whole roof. Pics before, after cleaner & after protector spray.

Ill upload a pic tomorrow once the whole roof has dried but first impressions after it has sat drying for 30 mins is good. Can already start to see the blue coming thru already.

Whole roof treated yesterday and a noticeable improvement today despite the frost.

Ill give it another coat when there is another sunny/dry day as it needs a good 6 - 8 hrs to dry.

That's come up a treat! Looks like it's doing a decent job of repelling the water looking at the frozen beading on the hood.

Well after a few more treatments of the Autoglym stuff the roof now looks better than ever! Even with prolonged rainfall it repels it and has fantastic beading. Very pleased with the results
