Hi guys recently bought a veccy that drives great and i am really really happy with it, no rattles or knocking noises coming from engine.
However I dont know if the chain has been replaced! it has FSH but it looks like it only got and oil and filter over the last 4 yrs at 2yrs intervals, there is 73k miles on the clock and by what I have read here and other forums I am sitting on a potential time bomb with a massive repair bill if the chain goes, the car is mint inside and out apart from the exhaust and a break pipe which are showing slight signs of rust (which I will deal with later) but I want to get the engine A1 too, so I am looking to get the chain done asap. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the tayside area who knows his way round a sri engine?
