So I've seen mention of an alternative replacement of the z22yh fuel pump mentioned on a couple of sites. I hadn't given it much thought because I don't need one but thought I might put this here so other might pick it up.
So I found this page from a Russian guy with, what I assume, is a test version. Here. Now he does mention some other manufacturers but basically what he's done is rebuilt a fuel pump from a Renault. You can see one here. if the link doesn't work google Renault 7700115023 or Renault IDE fuel pump.
Ebay has them for 90 GBP you might get one from the scrap yard for a fraction and that's basically it. I think he's machined a collar to change the body diameters (look carefully and you can see red sealant) and extended and converted the drive. He does need to bugger around with the metal pipe but there doesn't appear to be much else.
