what's worse was the original could very easily have been repaired, but it's a critical part of a vx220 and should not be repaired.

so I cut it off

don't you mean WAS the front end of the car

seriously though, it absorbs the impact of a crash and saves the chassis from damage

mine only hit a hay-bale, which cracked/split the lower section :(

£700!! Fekkin Ding Dong!!

Well, you've got to have it. You wouldn't want that chassis buckling after all the hard work you're putting into it.

mintex 1144 pads F+R, new discs, new hubs

Not sure I understand the new hubs bit. Are you switching to Lotus 4 bolt hubs? If so, why?

they are standard 5 stud hubs and were cheap :D

theres nothing wrong with the originals, except they are rusty and would require bead blasting

:D I'm glad you didn't paint them red!

I was getting worried what you would reply

red is not my favorite colour, strangely it's blue :D

what did you paint them with vocky?

I used Halfords caliper paint and a modellers paint brush, 3 coats takes about 1 hour per caliper

Not much progress to report, taking the suspension parts to the bead blasters hopefully tomorrow :)

my new anti-roll bar bushes arrived, so fitted them with plenty of silicone oil

also fitted some mesh over the heater air intake slots, to stop stones etc from getting in the heater and stopping the 'hot/cold' flap from working correctly
