With the advent of monthly contracts going from 12 months to 18 months and now 24 and 36 months on some networks, are the phones really upto the job? Are they durable enough to withstand these lengthy periods of time?
The reason that I ask is that I have had my Nokia N95 8GB phone for 17 months now and i'm not due an upgrade for another 4 weeks yet and for the past 2 months i've had nothing but trouble. The contacts list keeps disappearing so I have to backup my phone every few days. I've downloaded the latest software for the phone from Nokia. I'm lucky if I get 1 days use from the battery now too. The N95 is without doubt the best phone that i've ever had but its depreciating rapidly now.
So, back to my original question, are mobile phones built to last the distance of the newer contracts?
