the MFD on the centre console and its horrid orange back light

after removal and dismantling of the unit i fitted a small strip of led's from a computer light

i then made a white light diffuser from some opal perspex the surround of the orange one was cut and reused to hold the screen in place

testing with out the diffuser

those leds look great, so much nicer then the orange. seen a few vauxhall with them changed but never knew how. i'd like mine blue to match the dash and alpine head unit. another job to put on the 'to do' list.

thanks :)
blue is quite easy there's no need to change the diffuser
there's only really a need to for white cause it still comes out orange with the diffusers in
i've got it a bit better now by fitting the LED's at the top and painting the inside silver to reflect the light thru the screen and removed the tracing paper
as in this pic

the speedo is on the list of many many things to do lol
