The Internet & online shopping has killed the high street retailers!
We've all gone into a shop for something, then looked it up on the net & found it a half the price!

True, the only reason I actually go to a shop is for clothes, or I want something NOW

Its shocking but as you say you go to look then buy online. What is the high street going to look like though, personally i have started using the high street for items as i am fed up of getting either tat from online stores which is miss advertised / damaged in the post or delays in the order.

It doesn't help with the likes of PCWorld offering better deals online than you can get in the store.

aye pc world, decent prices on components !, you think about reserving and popping down on your day off to find it is unavailable at store

makes you wonder how some vauxhall garages keep going when they wanted £60 for a 5l can of oil yesterday that you can get on the bay for £21.50 the service manager said if you can get it for that then carry on!!

i went in to my local vx just before crimbo for oil hes said £32 i told him ""you do know i can get the same delco oil from autovaux for £17" he then went on to sell me the oil for £20

but as for these shops i dont think the online sales have killed them more like people are spending there money better and finding better prices online since the resection and the shops cant compete with the prices

and consider the market HMV are in, then think of the popularity of streaming websites, Netfllix and Love Fillm and the more recently emerged Ultra Violet. The hard copy era may be coming to a dismal end in favour of digital copies and the ease of streaming whatever movies you want almost immediately without having to look for deals on the net or in store. It's no wonder really, I'm just surprised that it's taking as long for them to go bust!

Very true. We used to use blockbuster all the time to rent DVD's from, but since blu ray was released, they just don't seem to stock as much as they probably should. They have even less 3D films as well, only a few in at any one time.

So people with gift vouchers are able to use them again at HMV, as their debt has been bought.
