Balance shaft chain removed

Port & polish head head

Cobra exhaust
Lightened & balanced flywheel
Sport clutch
also has LPG installed and gearbox has been reconditioned (F23)
full rebuild rings and the lot

having a hard time with mapping on the standard ECU with this one, it needs a remap right away but after a dyno (120bhp) its doing 50bhp less then what it was doing before (170bhp), is this normal? Is there anyone that can help me with this, also i need a good setup for the coolant pipes for the electric water pump as it seems to be having problems with the heater core and lpg unit getting airlocked, it always seems to get bubbles back in. I've got standard coolant pipes on with booster pump on the heater matrix/lpg and water pump fitted right after the radiator.

cheers guys

are the cams vernier'd with saab sprockets or standard z22se sprockets ?

I have a pair of adjustable cam sprockets available if needed.

Standard z22se ones, I followed the cat cams instructions which was all O.E.M. if needed I'll get what you've got there but makes no sense for cat cams to have that instruction, I phoned the place where I got the cams from and he got in contact with cat cams

My car has just jumped timing on the chain, and if there isn't much damage I'm going to rebuild it. Is there any advise you can give me vocky on the rebuild which we make it more reliable and help with the mods I got? The heads got to come off and get a new chain, any extra head work I could do to make it better aswell?

Cheers

Hey just curious whats involved in fitting the electric water pump? Hard to do?? Is it easier to do than balance shaft delete?

Also can I have them adjustable sprockets please, think I may need them. From the mods you've seen how much brake you think it'll do?

We just taken the bottom chain out and left everything where it was apart from guides and bolts then smashed the plastic propeller out of the original pump then smooth it down as much as I could. Fitted the pump at the bottom of the radiator, was easy really apart from leaks here and there till we sorted them out. But I'm going to have to install new radiator pipes as it pumps into the expansion tank aswell as the thermostat. If it gets a rebuild I'll take photos

I have some used valves if any are bent, but check the valve guides are not cracked. Without pulling the head it's not really possible to tell if they are bent. Normally just the inlets go, if you are lucky only one pair will need changing, depends on the rpm of failure.
Change the chains and see if it runs okay, if not you need to pull the head off.

no compression in any of the cylinders, low ticking noise (valves hitting) and back fire in the air filter. Jumped timing at around 70mph/3000rpm on motorway, so looks like head off job hoping for little damage. May as well do full cylinder head again like last time, any other mods i could do to the head if I'm taking it in for work? And how much for the sprockets vocky ?

you might as well open up the exhaust ports whilst the head is apart, just use a dremel or similar. Use the exhaust gasket to show you how much to remove.

At that rpm it's probably best to replace the lot, I can do you the full set of 16 valves for £20 inc postage

Should be taking the head off this week to check for the full damage, hoping these z22yh pistons don't have to much height for the high lift cams. How much for valves and the sprockets? vocky can I ask aswell how much power can these z22yh pistons and conrods take? They look alot stronger then the z22se ones vocky

I think 300 bhp should be possible with the z22yh pistons and rods, standard z22se can take 260 and survive (270 really is in the danger zone of z22se rod failure)

Found the problem with my car not starting, looking like head overhaul again.

Most likely caused by the roller rockers having zero clearance to the valve spring retainers

modify the roller rockers like this;

roller rockers.jpg

make the bottom flat, so remove the curves shown by the red arrow on the left, the right version has been modified

The other option is to use the cast B207 roller rockers
