Hey folks!

been on the forum a while, lurking from time to time, but it's time to say hi.

May I introduce you to Freyja, the £675 lemon!

When i got the car, she had an Irmscher spoiler lip, but a surprise on the A19 in the darkness of midnight, something blew onto the road, and ofc.... by the time I'd seen it, I'd hit it. So that smashed the lip, half went down the A19 and the other half was hanging off, so removed it... but whatever smashed into my car at 70mph also damaged the front bumper.

Aside from paying the £675 for the car (which might I add, had Irmscher front and rear bumper extensions, totalling to about £800 or so). she's had some work done to her:

Full new exhaust (standard)
New clutch, plate, master & slave cylinder (standard)
New timing chain kit


Currently, she thinks it's amusing to throw oil around in the engine bay, and drop it over the floor, and i gotta keep her topped up with oil...

Up the Sunderland way if there's anyone near by, but you've met me, and my baby.

Any questions, feel free to ask. (Believe me, i'm gonna be asking for your opinion on many things)

not many £675 lemons can drive through London without having to pay ulez charge that's a plus

Hi and welcome to the site. :)

One of the causes it may be throwing oil around the engine bay is the front crankshaft oil seal ring in the timing/oil pump cover may be worn or damaged. The cover has to be removed when replacing the timing/balance chains and the seals don't usually like being disturbed, so it's prudent to renew it at the same time.

yeah, it's going in a week tomorrow for a few days, get its MOT and and repairs needed to pass. i'll ask the lad to have a look

also, i got a cherry bomb backbox as a gift, all be it used, but i might see if he'll throw that on while he's at it.

I'm thinking of asking him to do the headgasket, too. this car has a ~5L oil capacity, but any more than 2L in and it chucks white smoke out the back, so oil is obviously getting into the cylinders. so it can only hold so much oil, drinks a good bit being a chain, and insists on throwing the rest around the engine bay o_O so yeah...

OBD2 Error: P0340 is complaining about the crankshaft senor, actually... and I have that error, he's gonna look into it next weekend.
also got B2099 (Body) and P0103 (Powertrain), so he's got some work infront of him lmao

I have a 2001 z22se and I live in the zone and it says I'm exempt you can do a ulez check off your licence plate vauxhall must have done something right

bit annoying, i just checked mine and it says i'd have to pay... lmfao oh well, could be that you live in the area. just a good job i'm not swinging down london any time soon haha

P0340 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit * (NOT Crankshaft Sensor)
P0103 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit High Frequency

* The Z22SE's don't have a camshaft sensor, instead the ignition control unit module (coil pack) has a CSI (Compression Sense Ignition) sensor, which is the silver module on top.
The genuine GM unit was developed by Delphi, and many owners have replaced them with aftermarket units which give no end of trouble, so check that yours is a genuine one.

it did have new coil pack and spark plugs about a year ago

now, financially its more viable, I can start tarting it up
had it for about 18 month, i feel like it needs a bit of poke.
