Chris, what have you done!?
I read in your thread that you routed the crankcase ventilation back to your air intake. That might explain why your old engine was using so much oil. I had that setup too, but found that the charger was drawing in oil straight from the head. I just use a small filter now to vent to air. Good luck with the new engine!
Is your Z22se ECU suitable for this Z20nes?

I don´t think that this was the Problem. The S/C and the Trottlebody are clean. I coudn´t see any oil there. I think it was an damage at the Piston Seals. But ill see that wehn the engine is open.

running over 16psi of boost on a low compression set up, and me laptop died while on a tuning run (was pulling around 120mph) i suspect me fuel injectors ran out of oomph as i was pushing them on the amount of fuel delivery i guess theres also a chance my wastegate actuator fouled on my heatshield to as it had a dog leg in it and was a little out of place that day, melted the rings:rolleyes: still it was all good fun.
we do tend blow a lot of cars down here historicly.
cant help being a speed freak i suppose why build it then not use it, i got 18months of good running the last 6 tho my setup was really getting quite advanced with working stepper motors cold to warm up enrichments etc (100% self programmed from scratch the map started as an escort rs turbo just to fill numbers in then wideband tuning was used, then run as much advance as me ball would let me etc)
so its still very sad and still my favourite motor ever.. (tho not the tidiest lol)

Hey z22se-fan.

The weather was too bad the last few days. I had a cold and did not want that they will get worse. But it will soon move on.
I read your post in the Dutch forum. The damage to the engine was not caused by the s / c conversion. The damage to the piston rings was present, but has been shown that after the conversion.

In addition, the engine power was significantly higher than expected, so the rods came about its limits. So anyway I had to use new rods. If I had opened the engine, I would have overhauled the entire engine and installed new pistons.
Now I have a better engine, completely overhauled, with better pistons and rods for little more money than the repair of the old engine. That was a deal i coudn´t refuse. This engine is now stable to 450HP so I still have some room for improvement.

That's great, that's some serious power and a safe margin. I posted a link to your movieclip in that thread yes. Really nice clip... I know you did the conversion right, you know far more than me... Good luck with the build and replacement!

A little update:

The Z20NET engine is running! I fired it up yesturday for the first time and all is runing fine.
But i have already the next Idea in my Head. I don´t know if you know this kind of fuel: E85 (15% normal fuel and 85% ethanol)
This will bring some extra Ps and is much cheaper than normals fuel.

A lot of time passed since my last Post in this Thread. In this time i worked a lot at my Car. I installed a new Exhaus System (100 Cell raceing Cat, Friedrich Motorsport mainfold and a 70mm Flap exhaust system)
changed the Pistons for an other compression rate, ported my cylinderhead, optimized the intercooler (3-Port mod + bigger cooler) and i optimized the belt guide.

Actually the car is running without any problems and i have a lot of fun. Maybe i post some actual Pictures heare in the next days.

Greetings from Germany

This really is a stunning car well done mate.

So from starting this whole Supercharged thing, what sort of costs are involved, I am quite sad my 2.2 isn't as fast as i quite expected, and I like to get hands on with my cars.... Where can I start with a project like this, is there any read up on this upgrade?
