well what an awfull day!
what was expected to be a very straight forward excersise, ended up being a total nightmare!
it should have been 1.5 -2 hours max on the dyno to re-map the engine to sort out the over rich mixture.
well i finaly got away from there at 5.30pm!
after about 2 hours mark was just about done...........then it all went tits up! the rev counter on the software was all over the place when he accelerated, which meant he couldnt tell if anything that he had done was now any good!
to cut a very long story short, he tried a new piggy back ECU, new possitive feed to the ECU, checked the earth, re made the earth, but nothing would work.
by about 3pm john was on the fone to a guy in germany who wrote the software to find out if he had experienced this and after a while he said he had and that it was the feed to the ecu (which comes off the coil pack)
so now he has to find another feed, and after about 4 attempts in various places (because the vaxhaull drawings were wrong) he eventualy found the right one on the ecu that feeds the rev counter.
then.....he had to start all over again!
so what should have cost around £180 cost £400! not their fault in all honesty, just bad luck. the feed from the coil pack was breaking down somehow and just went tits when it got hot i guess.

what a nightmare.
anyway! when my car was originaly set up it was on thier old dyno, and came out at about 240 ish bhp.
john said this new set up they have is more conservative and is around ,on average 20bhp less in its reading to what the other one would have given.

the results i had today were 243 bhp and 214 torque, which acording to john would have been around 260+ bhp on the old machine, so at least at the end of the day i can say that the manifold and exhaust mods ive had done have done the trick!

it was a totaly different car on the way home, so it was worth it, even if it was very expensive , and a very very long day!

so heres a clip of her on the rollers and the results (my appologies for the sound) ......phew!
anyone who thought my car was loud before i had better turn the sound level down lol
