Expensive month!

I feel your pain Matt. I've had to fork out £150 deposit for insurance on me Focus, then had an MOT which thankfully passed only needing 2 new front tyres. That was £130 for the pair. And now my tax runs out the end of this month. Only going to get 6 months tax so that they don't clash with each other anymore.

That's what I ended up doing, so my tax/mot/insurance are all different months now, as they used to be the same when I first got the car.

I don't think they actually need to remove the subframe on the MK5 to remove the gearbox, it can be done on a ramp quite easily from what I've read on the VXR site.
Subframe has to be removed to get the box out. There's no room otherwise.
The only time you don't need to remove the Subframe is if they split the box in place.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up Daz. That will explain the tracking then :)

they usually drop the subframe on one side to replace the clutch, gives em a good inch or two on the f23

Its nice to have the box right out of the way, as it makes lining the clutch up easier.

Hows your gearbox now Matt?

We had another M32 box back from repair today as that one had completely stripped 6th gear and bearings had gone etc. This one was out of a astra h 1.9cdti which also had a chewed DMF. The box lasted to 70k thou....
