Most decent stand alone ECU's have the option to have a MIL light.
If its all set up right it should pass mot.
I had a 2.0L 16V X20XEV Corsa B on ITB's running 280* with 12.5mm lift Kent cams @226bhp/176lbft. that passed mot....................... just!

yes it had lambda in, it needed it for mixture control. also had the cat in.
guess with carbs you will not need a lambda as you will only be controlling spark with ECU? possibly idle rpm as well?
I am a tester only been testing since last April. The mot manual is big things change all the time. I spoke to our master tech . He thinks it's possible
