Doing my chains

When I moved the car out of the warehouse this morning I noticed a slight high pitched whine/whistle with revs. Is this indicative that the balance chain has got out of whack?

Everything else seems normal, not noticing any vibrations or anything??

I look back at my photos but cannot see anything wrong, and I rechecked it several times while doing the cam chain.

Despairing at thought of having to start again.

did you mark the direction of the aux belt before removing ?
if you fit the belt running the opposite direction from when it was 1st installed it will squeal/whine for a week till it beds in to the new direction

Do you snort it or smoke it?
no lol
i use the carb cleaner to blow out the bolt holes for the guides and chain parts then apply med strength stud lock to all bolts and torque them up
its just a way to guarantee they're not going to rattle loose and cause problems on customers cars :) it also helps for a restful nights sleep

the noise could be the belt tensioner or even the alternator, now you have fixed the noisy engine other sounds become apparent
