this is excatly the problems im getting. ive jsu had the sparks plug replace with vx geniune triple electrode. which seems to be ruuning and sounding better. but looks like the cts mite well be getting replaced aswell now.well the CTS controls the timing / fueling of the engine based on coolant temps
symptoms include random cut outs, poor idling, hunting, over fueling so yes similar to EGR valve

Will try and bridge both ends of the connector and see if that sets fans in motion as disconnecting CTS didn't seem to start fans up. Car does runs a bit better since replacing the CTS just sometimes the temperature gauge in cabin doesn't seem to register for 1st 10 mins or so of driving so something seems a bit off.If you disconnect the cts after about 10-30 seconds the fans should kick in.
Problem I have is mine never go off so for now I've just disconnected it
