Feels like a really daft question but could someone explain/show a picture of where the CTS is please?

Having similar problems here with very lumpy idle once warm, near to stalling when coming to a stop, etc. Hoping this is a possible fix!

Mine seemed to be running fine, apart from when you start her from warm, she would sound like she is on three cylinders for about 10secs and then clear itself and run on all four.

I though, to hell with it, for all the price of the CTS I throw a new one in anyway, car seems more responsive in the lower rev range than it did previous and it starts better when warm!! Thanks to you guys giving me the hint though!!

well the CTS controls the timing / fueling of the engine based on coolant temps

symptoms include random cut outs, poor idling, hunting, over fueling so yes similar to EGR valve
this is excatly the problems im getting. ive jsu had the sparks plug replace with vx geniune triple electrode. which seems to be ruuning and sounding better. but looks like the cts mite well be getting replaced aswell now.

I have the same problem on my 2.2 sri vec, lumpy idle after start up , and after warm up is still the same but not so bad , just replaced EGR which cost 121, now after what you all say going for a new Cts, will let you know how it went ,

Replaced the CTS on my Z22SE this evening, seemed to run a bit better, ie better throttle response. Question I have is when you disconnect the CTS should fans automatically kick in? Mine didn't and not sure they ever do???

Just to add, fans do work as they came on in safe mode over weekend. My next step would be a thermostat change, is that wise? Or could it be a wiring issue and if so is this a simple check?

That would indicate that the CTS then "breaks" the circuit in order to start fans going rather than making the circuit. Is that because your coolant temp is always very hot or another issue dewismotorsport.

dewismotorsport
what was the given size and wattage for the resistor on the thermostat fan module to stop the lamp coming on ? think im going to need it with the new w/p have one fan on the ecu and one on the w/p ecu

If you disconnect the cts after about 10-30 seconds the fans should kick in.

Problem I have is mine never go off so for now I've just disconnected it :ROFLMAO:
Will try and bridge both ends of the connector and see if that sets fans in motion as disconnecting CTS didn't seem to start fans up. Car does runs a bit better since replacing the CTS just sometimes the temperature gauge in cabin doesn't seem to register for 1st 10 mins or so of driving so something seems a bit off.
