Clutch Noise

Hey Guys

I just dropped a new engine in a Zafira Today but have noticed a strange noise from the clutch. The noise only seems to happen when you put your foot on the clutch pedal.

The noise is a sort of whining noise do you think this would be the throw out bearing??

if the car is out of gear and on idle it sounds great but as soon as i press the clutch it whines

Oh... ohohohohohohohohoh..... i just did exactly the same thing (and pulled the engine out again to check... dont do that) !

Please please check to cover for the flywheel first ! its a small metal cover behind the drivers side driveshaft held in place with x2 13mm bolts, i managed to bend mine refitting the new engine, fired it up, sounded great ! foot on clutch, and it was horrid though is sounded rotational and horrid noise, all it was was that stupid plate just touching the flywheel when the clutch was depressed ! Just before you do anything else, check that :rolf:

funnily enough mine does the same since i fitted my engine in my zaf...only when i press the clutch peddal down...like a small catch/squeak noise....

If it is what i said, it will eventually go as it will wear away lol... i throw mine over the hedge

it only does it evry now and again....

funnily enough i changed mine aswell cos i bent the old un...

guna check mine tomoz to see if it is that

well i took that plate off...and it had been catching..so left it off and guna see if that was deffo cause of teh noise

well i hope so....not bothered if not tbh..as you cant hear it when driving as the radio is on lol....

but you can see it was bent slightly and it had been catching on something as was shiny silver...

should no tomorrow
