Hi.
Can anyone explain this mod? why and how it works?

Don't understand why you would blank of the original CCV and fit that . Why not just do it of the original then to manifold.
not a bad idea tho as my CCV is vented to atmosphere and get the odd will of oil and that would eliminate that

The top post he says he had a blocked one and left it blocked.
If it reduces oil consumption why don't you give it a go

Can't c that 2 oil breather going to the inlet manifold being good tho

Well, it's always smart to put an oil catch tank...
I'm planning on doing it to the original ventilation tube, just waiting for parts to receive.

Will still have 2 lots of oil vapour/heat to the inlet tho .
So your doing it to the original air intake pipe from air filter to the TB?
Does your engine use oil ?also have you got a aluminium rocker or a plastic one are they the same inside.
Sopose it will lower oil pressure with another breather in turn lowering oil consumption . You will have to update us if it does anything or not it's worth a try

This is the second version of Cliff version By-Pass. On his z22se engine he has now 1 liter oil consumsion of 6000KM. Before this By-pass he has 1 liter oil consumpsion 1200KM.
It works perfect for his Z22se engine. Last zaterday we have it also don on my Zafira a Z22se engine.

By-Pass 2016 uitvoeren bij Cliff van het Opel-Forum.

Information:

My Z22se engine
KM stand: 227.xxxKM
Bild:2002
Olie type: 5W40
Oil Consumsion: 1 liter op 800KM.

I have tried already more things to have less oil cunsumsion. Nofhing helps on this moment.


1. PVC valve checked end cleaned between cilinder 2&3.
2. Different 5W-40 oil tried already Kroon, Valvoline, Techno olie, But nofhings works for less oil consumsion.
3. Installed a oil catch, becourse off dirty airfilter end throttle body. Now everything keeps clean.
4. Outside z2se engine looks nice en clean no oil to see.
5. Inside exhaust looks very dark looks like burnt oil.


I have now my Zafira A olmost 2 years. drived almost 34.000KM with it. From the beginning I had an average oil consumption of 1 liter of oil
on 1200km . But since a few months, I have an average oil consumption of 1 liter per 800km .
Therefore, decided to try it out because his z22se block the oil consumption is considerably reduced back to Cliff ( Opel forum) the by-pass .
He has now been driven 2600KM and the oil level is still full 3/4 (80 %).


That's why last Saturday with my son Lucas all the way to Rotterdam 200km one way to perform along with Cliff the By-pass for my
z22se block. Once arrived here immediately looked at his amazing nice Corsa where a large 2-liter block is in . Same great course talk
our Opel . Then put inside the Zafira and in first do a bakkie . During the coffee let you see if the correct valve cover gasket
had me .

You need a clear look good if you have this right because the oil valve cover gasket there are two versions . You have a clear
a gasket for the engine t / m code : 11144979.En a gasket for the engine code from 11.14498 million and also have a different valve cover gasket.

My Z22se block has the code 110XXXXX . Comes from March 2002 year built in Rüsselsheim .

Began disassembling the parts

1. Air Duct
2. coolant hose that runs along the valve cover .
3. Ignition removed
4. Remove oil tank .

Valve cover loosening some screws properly. It did have the problem that we fuel line did not get loose. So we tried to get it loose without gasoline to release leding . Succeeded but would have been better if we had gotten loose petrol Leidig maarja . Z22se valve cover removed ;

After we removed the lid. One looked to be as clean as possible because the inside
it was well below the oil. After we cleaned it as best as possible. We heard when you rattle with
the valve cover moving a flap. That door we heard not move when it was still not clean.
We especially crankcase vent cleaned as well as possible. There was quite some stuff from what
has been firmly. But Cliff did this by +/- 9bar can clean. : Thumb Cliff also learned that my
lower block has only five holes while my valve cover has six openings. We were together very weird.
For Cliff told me that his z22se 6 holes was in the bottom block and the cylinder head cover what seems to us to bed.
Where Cliff came back was that was used two other openings at me as crankcase ventilation compared to its
Z22se block. This we have together never be able to find information about. So it seems that there are different
versions.

I actually made this "mod", except I put a direct pipe from rocker cover to inlet manifold. And put a small home made oil catcher can in between! :D
Oil catcher can actually collects some oil.
First thing I noticed, idle fuel consumption increased from 0.8-0.9 to 1.1-1.2 l/h

the rocker cover and sump crankcase pressure are linked via the chain cavity :confused: and also the holes
in the head
all i see this mod doing is linking the inlets ccv to a constant vacuum

i guess some people dont want to change the valve in the inlet manifold :)

take the inlet off and it's just pushed in you normally get a new one with a head set gasket kit
