I have some calipers for rear vented discs from an omega 3.2 :?

all you need is some vented rear discs 8)

vauxhall only ever fitted rear vented discs to the omega 3.2/2.6

the discs are a dealer part only, parts factors will try to sell you solid discs instead

it's a straight forward conversion, the pic shows a vec B with them fitted 8)

I would expect them to use standard omega 3.2 pads :)

I paid £100 for the calipers, cleaned and painted them, plus fitted new seal kits to both calipers (£30)

so £70 + £20 postage seems fair (they weigh quite a bit) dunno..

Well im definatly interested in havin them 8) by fitting that type of caliper on the rear just how much difference will it add along with the fronts being vented. obviuosly better :) but to what amount. notsure.gif any ideas.

the standard caliper has 35mm pistons, these are 42mm and you also get the extra cooling from the vented discs :)

plus they look so good 8)

Hi Vocky are these a direct replacement and do they use the original vectra brake hose?

Thanks

they are a direct replacement, the brake pipe just needs bending to fit the new caliper, otherwise they bolt straight on :)

Hello Vocky and all,
just trying to find out what diffenence these calipers/disc setup will make to brake feel over the standard setup.
my car is the z22se obviously with standard disc setup all round.
i have driven my mates 320 'y' reg (vented front and rear) and the difference between the vectra and it is massive. the bmw is so much more confidence inspiring when braking.
obviously if you have the rear calipers do you know how much the disc's & pads would set back to complete the transformation?.
Finally what about the front brakes?, are these bigger and a stright fit if the are from the omega?.
daft questions i know but neverless worth doing,
anyway thanks for all your time,
cheers,
macerena

the pads are the same price as normal pads, the vented (vauxhall dealer only) discs are £120 the pair :)

omega fronts will not fit a vectra.

308mm front discs from an astra turbo + omega vented rears = serious stopping power 8)

the calipers are now sold.

brake feel?

Hello again Vocky,
what about the brake feel compared to the standard setup.
is there any difference at all. my brakes are ok as they go but feel ,,,,,,,,,,wooden in comparision to the bmw i have tried.
disc's seem very dear in comparision to the bmw items but then again i have looked in gsf and the likes,
have you modded your barake and what difference does it make both in performance and importantly feel,
thanks again,
macerena

the brake pedal feel is rubbish on a vectra B, I don't think anything will ever change that

bigger discs increase the braking performance because they take longer to heat up, same as fitting vented rear discs.

the vx220 has vented discs all round and that weighs half what a vectra B does :?

brakes again

Cheers Vocky,
thanks for the advice so far. :)
Am i correct in thinking that the sliders, bolts, etc, from the standard rears can be reused with the calipers for fitment, thus only requiring me to purchase some pads and vented discs(very expensive from the stealers  ) for the rear anyway. :?
Also on the front brake upgrade route what costs would you reckon for a complete front setup (astra turbo) and again i take it is a stright fit onto the car then a complete bleed of system.
is the best way to get the brakes via breakers or have you seen any available on the other forums that you go on,
Lastly, well almost is there anything about in vx bits/non vx that is a reasonable price that gives a sizeable upgrade in the performance of the brakes,
cheers again Vocky,
macerena

P.S. Do you have a extra special Jan sale price for your rear calipers kit?????

Braided hoses usually help although I've only had them on rubbish braking cars anyway... which happen to Vauxhalls too.

Would these fit on any vaux 5 stud?

If you sell them could you say where you got them from (if a shop)? Course if they haven't gone before then I may have to have them

I tracked them down at a specialist breakers yard, they scrap police cars only

the 308mm brake upgrade is available from LMF
