This Citroen Traction Avant belongs to classic lifelong Citroen fans and was detailed by Vince Hargreaves who details in his spare time under ‘Pallas Auto Refinishing’. Built between 1934 and 1957, these cars were well ahead of their time with front wheel drive, monocoque construction and torsion bar suspension. Most are the 4 cylinder non hydraulic light 15 models, but this is the rarer, more powerful 6 cylinder, 3 litre with hydraulic rear suspension. The proud owners have had this car since 1984 during which time it has won several best of show awards and Vince, who prefers to work on classic cars, transformed this in just one day. This car has in its history had a full restoration and a re-spray 20 years ago. Vince uses both rotary and dual action polishers, but worked with the DAS 6 Pro polisher on this job as the paint was in an OK condition and didn’t require anything too heavy. He used the Menzerna polishing pad together with Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD. The bonnet had had a more recent re-spray and the paint was a lot tougher so he switched to a 3M polishing pad again using it with the PO85RD. 9 ½ hours later and this classic car is back to its glory, needless to say the owners were more than happy with the results. Next on Vince’s list is a series 1 1992 Citroen XM. [gallery link="file" columns="4"]
