balance shaft chain

I was wondering if anyone can explain to me what the purpose of the above is a a 2.2 direct. Thanks

I Assume coolant pump is the same as water pump? I had also read about the sprockets and one of them being exhaust related? Cheers

As mentioned above, the balance chain drives both of the engine vibration damper balance shafts and the water pump.
Both balance shafts have a bearing and a sprocket attached at the timing end of the engine and the sprockets are labelled 'inlet green' and 'exhaust white' to denote each shaft, as one sits towards the inlet side of the engine and the other on the exhaust side but they have no function on induction or exhaust.
