Hello,

I have Vectra b 2001 2.2l, the problem is, I have a delay ( about 2 sec) in connecting shafts, from N to D or R, and when it connects it connects roughly with hit. What should I do??

Note, I have never changed trans filter or oil.

Thanks..

I found this on vec C site

IIRC it is a T55 for the filler. You need to pop off the selector cable before you can do it. Make sure you can remove the Filler Plug before removing the drain plug just to make sure you can get it off. It is recommended that you put a new washer on the drain plug and oil seal on the filler plug. The checking plug is a normal socket 12mm or 13mm IIRC.

1. Pop off gear selector cable
2. Remove filler plug
3. Remove drain plug - drain fluid
4. Refit drain plug (with new washer)
5. Remove checking dipstick, fill and check level (repaeat as necessary but don't overfill).
6. When happy tighten checking dipstick
7. Tighten filler plug (with new oil seal)
8. Refit selector cable

Bear in mind that if you only drain the fluid from the drain plug you are only replacing half of the fluid (that what it is in the pan). This is far better than nothing, but to do it properly you need to flush all of the 8 litres (what's in the pan and in the torque converter) or so out.

some advise to get a gearbox specialist to replace the entire 8 litres
