I've got this type, works well.

What Carl means is take the downpipe off, wind a standard nut on the remains of the stud and burr the top over to "seal" the nut on the stud. Then unscrew it.
Of course, this only works if there is enough thread to stick through the nut!! ;)

right got manifold off and trying to peen the metal so i have to put the nut down a lot then bash the hell out of it

Or if you have a welder weld the nut to the stud.

soke the threads with wd40 to try n loosen the stud from the manifold.
