loss of power

hey peeps, lookin for a little info and help if possible. Started the car and drove about 2 miles when all of a sudden the TC and engine lights came on and there was no responce when preesing the accelarator pedal. The car didn't cut out but just coasted to a standstill, idled really juddery...
