codes

Just putting up another post to see if anyone knows what these fault codes are related to... Also does anyone know if these should prevent the car from starting? Read some information online regarding these codes and people are conflicted regarding whether they relate to a faulty CIM or faulty...

This morning, while the wife was driving home, the EML came on and, when I checked the codes with OpCom, it was showing P0404 & P1414. Both related to the EGR. Thing is, the EGR has been removed. This was done before I got the car so I don't know what was done on the 'cheater' side of things...
