Im really tempted to get rid of the 2.2 tbh. High fuel consumption, especially living in/around Birmingham and driving round town. High insurance as I only have 2 years NCB. Tax on it will be going through the roof next year. I just cant see a good reason for keeping it ....

Your's will already have the cut out in the rear bumper as i believe all face lift bumpers are the same, unless you have the valance added on. All vec B mid pipes and tailpipes are the same except for 1.6 8v but you never see them floating about so I wouldnt worry

Sounds more like the immobiliser isnt turning off. Chain problem is usually preceeded by lots of noise and bangs from the engine as the chain snaps and the pistons start chewing valves.
