very quick question about exhaust flexi on Vectra B

Does anyone know if the following is a suitable replacement for my blowing flexi on my front pipe? Not sure of the size I need :( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-8-Exhaust-Flexi-Repair-Joint-200-x-50-Flexipipe-/220630640684?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item335e9c682c#ht_2182wt_1210

Z22SE Engine misfire on cold startup

Thought I'd update this to let you know what I've found this weekend in case anyone reads this in the future..... Changed the Coolant Temp sensor first as it's the easiest thing to change. Made no difference. So while I was waiting for the engine to cool down again, I fitted my freshly...

Z22SE Engine misfire on cold startup

Hi all, long time no speak! Hope you're all well. Can't believe I've owned my old SRi now for over seven years! And generally it's been pretty good, apart from a timing chain jumping a couple of teeth a few years back and general wear and tear items it's been as good as gold. Oh and a cracked...

Vectra B 2.2 petrol: Water in plug recess

I've just found this thread while searching for the exact same problem! I gave my Vectra a service at the weekend and when I changed the number four plug I had exactly the same happen to me as happened to you - water flooded the plug recess and basically kept pouring out until (I guess) the...

Sportex Centre Section for Vectra B

How do! Long time no speak! Hope you're all doing well. I have a question for you guys........ My Vectra (only just) passed the MOT today, the centre section is buggered basically. It's got a hole in it that the tester stuffed some gun gum into so it would pass. He also said that where the...

    engine trouble a low rpm

My chain was a tooth out for almost four months and that didn't snap :) I think I was lucky though :) I had idle problems, the car was very uneven at idle although it wasn't really what could be described as a misfire. It was certainly firing on all four cylinders. Take a look at the...

Lack of low-down power, uneven tickover

I've re-fitted my EGR valve on the advice of Benny. I only blanked it off to see if it was that causing the problem (which it wasn't in my case). I may blank it off again now the car's running properly again just to see if it DOES make any difference - but at the moment the car is running...

Benny is my hero - another satisfied customer

I made the 300mile round trip to Benny's today to get my timing chain changed. Been umming and arring about having it done since I bought the car last July! I'd had a problem with the Vectra which had caused it to lose low down power and had tried various things to fix it to no avail - so I...

Lack of low-down power, uneven tickover

Thought I'd better update this thread...... The car is now fixed :D I've just got back from Benny's about half hour ago after having the timing chain replaced. As he was stripping the engine down, Benny pointed out that the timing was noticeably out on the exhaust cam. So it had jumped a...

    how much petrol

I've checked the fuel comp for accuracy by working out the MPG the "old-fashioned way" and it's consistantly about 0.2mpg out - which is pretty accurate as far as I'm concerned (especially when the fuel comp in my old cavalier used to be about 3-4mpg out each time I worked it out). I did a...

    Recall 1532

Yep, as Andy says, it's only relevant if your chain has snapped. You can't go into the dealer and say "I'm worried about my chain snapping etc etc" and quote this field remedy, because it's apparently not relevant until your chain snaps! - PLUS - if your car's engine number is outside the...

    Engine check light.

I tried the U381 scanner from Mike at www.talktomycar.co.uk but it wasn't compatible with my Vectra (September 2001). I thought it would be but it wasn't. So Mike suggested the ELM327 and said he was sure it would work. And it does. Also works on my dad's Focus and wife's Fiesta too :D

    Engine check light.

Where are you based mate? I've not got a tech2 but I do have an ELM327 thingy that connects to my laptop which will read fault codes and clear them :)

For those of you with Vectra Bs - something you may not know

Mine don't seem to be the easiest mirrors in the world to turn (guess that's due to being stuck in the same position for over five years 'cos hardly anyone knows they move  ) but yeah, basically twist them a bit and they will move to these positions.... I posted this up on VxON too and...

For those of you with Vectra Bs - something you may not know

Is this possibly the Vectra B's best kept secret??? If you're like me, you'll be thinking that the Vectra B's mirrors are similar to the Mk3 Cavalier in the way that they cannot be moved to protect them when you're parked etc (like many cars that can turn the mirrors in to stop them getting...

Bloody amazing :D My uncle had a Chrysler Avenger many years ago. Always thought they were OK cars, but were always outshone by the Ford Escort as far as I was concerned.
