Hi everyone.
I have been looking for instructions or advice on how to remove the gear knob on a vectra c and have had some advice.
just pull, just leave it, it will pop off on its own or get a grinder around it or an hack saw
but obviously some people want to take it off and put it back on not just replace it
so i have come up with a solution
first you will need a few thinks.
2 longish pole around 5/6 foot (i used 2 steel poles at about 20mm thick) but i think 2 broom handles would work well.
and 2 bungy cords or 2 pieces of rope, something to Tie the 2 pieces of pole together(i used 2 luggage straps).
so you put a pole both sides of the gear knob just under the leather on the plastic piece you lift up to get it in reverse, then tie the poles tight to each other so they cant slip past the gear knob
then get a mate to hold 1 side you hold the other and lift it will pop straight off.
but put something over the top of the gear knob like a heavy towel because you put that much pressure on it it really pops off and could smash the windscreen.
