Pre-Cat Removal

Tools Required:
Socketset with sockets 8mm,10mm,13mm
Open ended spanners 13mm,10mm 23mm
Longs ocket extension
Chisel & Hammer
Electric Drill with drill bits
Copper Grease & WD40

Step1
Jack up the front of the car up and make sure it's secure!
Remove the ignition key and do not start the car till the mod had been finished.

Step2
From the back of the engine bay remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold like in the picture below. (1st picture)

Step3
Now from under the car using a long extension bar with socket remove the 3 nuts from the downpipe to manifold. (These should come out easy).

Step4
Next step is to remove the 2 oxygen sensors on the exhaust. (Be careful withthese)

Step5
Now remove the exhaust clamp from the cat pipe to manifold (2bolts) now the exhaust should be ready to remove. This maybe tricky to remove from the cat side to the rest of the exhaust left on the car. You may need to twist and pull allot to free it from the join from the clamp you removed. Try some WD40 or even washing up liquid. After some twisting and pulling it should come free.
Now the exhaust section should be away from the car you need to start with the drilling

Step6
Drill a series of close quarter inch holes around the edge ofthe Pre Cat. Try and cool the drill bits off as they will get hot after a while, try dipping them in oil to help out. Drill all the way through to free it off better.
Now with the Pre Cat full of drill holes use a chisel to remove the full lot hammering the chisel down the sides.
Once the Pre Cat is removed clean the sides with a file or small grinder removing any sharp edges left. Once it looks clean and tidy it's time to fit it back up again.

Step7
Now enjoy the difference in sound and power gain.
