ok so as it happens i need to remove the dash from my car to retro fit climate control
here's how i got on
tools
t20 torx screwdriver
Philips screwdriver
stiff plastic wedge for removing trim under hand brake and below ash tray
small allen key for head light switch
removing the headlight switch
i used a small allen key to remove the switch knob
pull out then insert the allen key and pull knob off
behind the knob there are to metal tags holding the switch body in place
use a flat blade'd screw driver to prize the tab inwards the pull on the body of the switch case it shold pop out
red arrow needs prizing to release the headlight switch plug from the dash casing
blue arrows are the screws that need removing to get the casing off the dash
top screws indicated inside vent, shut the vent flap to keep the screws inside so there not lost
and its out
next glove box
it has 6 screws 3top and 3 bottom
open to remove the tops and closed to remove the bottoms
once removed unplug various elec plugs light ,disc changer
now the glove box is removed the other vent can be removed (top screws same as the other side in the vent)
follow the guide to remove the centre console from this forum
you should then be left with this
the lower console has 5 screws
2 in the foot wells one each side
1 at the odb port under the hand brake lever
2 at the rear of the console behind the seats they can be removed by pushing the seat forward
below the hand brake
behide the seat
once the 6 screw are remove the lower console can be lifted at the rear the hand brake will need pulling up to get it past then pull it out from under the dash and lift up between the seats
the speedo shroud has 2 plastic covers that are ether side of the steering collum
then 2 at the top
this shroud is a pain to remove and will take some fiddling
there is also 2 rubber bungs that sit on the lens be sure to not loose them
then the speedo has 2 screws at the bottom
the red arrow shows the locking tab for the speedo elecs
lift the tab and push left to release
removing the clocks is a bit like a roll over it comes out with the back facing you
the steering collum has 5 screws
one at the bottom
2 with plastic covers behind the steering wheel (philips)
the top cover will need popping out at the back then lifting off to get to the next 2 screws
2 on top
to remove the lower cover you need to take off the collum adjuster just one screw undo it till the plastic comes off then screw back in so its not lost
