Hope someone can help!! This car is draining my finances. I’m in Australia and it’s under the Holden badge.
Car accelerator response slowed right down and I had to park it up and get towed.
On inspection, accelerator pedal I pushed to the ground, intermittently no increase in acceleration.
After 1st mechanic said no fault codes, it was possibly throttle body, changed it- no difference. Wasted $250.. put my original TB back on.
I found video how to find fault codes without a diagnostic tool.
I tried this and found FCs:-
1191-5A high pressure pump, fuel pressure regulator?
1550 electronic throttle control
1525-65 limp home position
00000ecn
He tested low pressure fuel pump ran at 65psi.
Said he can’t test HP pump - why not?
2nd mechanic says accelerator pedal, removed and looking for part! Who knows how much he’ll waste!(I’m sick of paying for guesswork)
Now he’s just taken off a part he’s never seen before part number GM 2440415.. tried the accelerator said it worked perfect, put part back on worked perfect, now he can’t get part back on..
OMG I’m so sick of this car, and what I feel is I’m being ripped off cos I’m female!
I’ve already put used gearbox 9mths ago, New clutch system 3 weeks ago.
I just want to be able to get it running so I can get rid of it!
Could’ve bought a newer car with the $$ I’ve spent.
By the way- here in Aus, used cars are so expensive compared to Uk( where I’m from originally)
Someone please help - I’m pulling my hair out!!
TIA

These are very common faults for z22yh and ur mechanic should investigate those first. Suggest you use the search facility on here and see if the symptoms match with the fault codes u have found. Ive heard on various forums the manual box needs a bit more oil than it comes with from the factory.

He believes the part he’s taken off looks like a fuel shut off valve, but not %. He’s gonna talk to Holden tomorrow.
The car is starting and revving each time now, but I’m not convinced

the high pressure fuel pump is a common problem on the z22yh, difficult to test without the correct equipment.
