B207 - NA

Not built that many NA engines using the B207 engine as the base.

This one is getting z22se crank, z22yh pistons and rods - to increase the CR to 11:1, balancer delete, open up the exhaust ports, 2.4 inlet manifold and a WeaponR exhaust manifold. So should be fun :D

45 minutes after arriving

head is now fully stripped :)

I have also finished the balancer delete on the block.

I have fitted blanking screws to the exhaust auxillary take off oilway and the Saab PCV hole - I have drilled a 2mm hole to reconnect the PCV (z22se hole is in the middle of the large hole, so the gasket can fall out)

Got 196bhp out of mine Neil having done pretty much what you're about to do although I used the Z22SE bottom end. Be interesting to see how yours goes.

yh pistons all cleaned up and I got the weight down to 0.6 grams difference between them all. It could have been 3 grams difference between the heaviest and lightest !

Do you fancy turning it into an 8.5k rpm screamer and putting it in an old touring car!!! :):)
Seriously though what are you going to put it in?

whilst the cams are away at Piper I opened up the exhaust ports, refitted the valves and then bolted the head back onto the block

Fitted the Piper cams with z22se cam sprockets and the B207 chain kit.
The Piper cams are designed to use standard z22se sprockets.

Engine ready for install, it's going to have the z22se cam cover from the original engine

installed this engine yesterday, pig of a job due to a WeaponR exhaust manifold and fitting a 2.4 inlet.

I forgot how 'ticky' Piper cams sound, I guess removing 1mm from the base lobe rather than adding metal is easier for them.
