Problem solved. Changed the CTS and fixed a crack in the exhaust manifold. Also cleaned the breather hose which was almost blocked. Engine runs smoothly again

My Vectra C Z22YH is running rough at idle. Does anyone have a suggestion what could be wrong? There is no spanner light or faultcodes.

Patricks - When holding still at idle power I could feel a small vibration in the steering wheel. But when I was driving the engine ran smooth with no vibrations.

KevinH - I think that the sprocket teeth had been worn off before I bought the car and flushed out at the last oil change. There were no evidence of any metal shavings of any kind in the oil or inside the engine. I even tried to stick a metal wire with a cloth crapped around it into the sump...
