things that would make a performance enthusiast scream.
Lets start with the aerodynamic stuff: the upper grille is completely blocked. The lower grille is open but I have added a tray to prevent the air from spilling under the car. This forces all the air to go through the radiator. The tray...
Well the Corolla managed ONE lap before puking oil out of every possible location. Still I would not call it a failure but not a rousing success either.

And away we go (mosey)
some corners handled surprisingly well
and this is the last...
Believe it or not I am planning to tow another car with my estate. The car I will be towing is a Toyota corolla. This car is stripped out for racing and weighs in at about 700kg. I think I'll be OK towing as the estate has a towing capacity of 1000kg and a tongue weight of 180kg. the car will...
mine has the original: block, inlet, throttle body, cams, pistons, crank and rods
what I've changed: exhaust mani, down pipe, cat, midpipe and backbox.
Planned changes: inlet, throttlebody and cams
dyno results are in 139.6 wheel HP thats 169BHP folks and no tune on the original injectors.
I'm pretty sure I'm at the limit of the standard inlet and injectors . I could eek out a touch more with a tune but I think this will do for now.
Next up will be 24# injectors a tune and a 2.4 inlet...
here are the new flanges for my cat I used a brand new MIG so the welds are not perfect.
this should flow a bit better than the OEM 1.75 inch stock parts
I'm actually quite surprised that I'm doing as well as I am considering I started with just 130bhp. If I can get some tuning this estate may top the bolt on power gains board.
I have pulled the Short ram intake and replaced it with the standard air box (fully de-restricted) and a good 3in cold air feed. I have gone from 145 bhp to 166 bhp by just swapping this back. Next up is one small restriction in the exhaust. I have one place where the original flanges are used...
20k service intervals are awful long and they may have contributed to the cam failure. If this were my car the service intervals would never exceed 5k and I would strongly recommend on your next engine/car stick to shorter intervals. The oil may say it's good for 20k but your filter isn't.
