my car also does this occasionally on (very) cold starts and only lasts a few seconds. i'm not worried as it isn't loud. i just put it down to the fact that as the oil had drained to the sump and on first start up it hasn't fully circulated the engine and lubed the chain up sufficiently.
As above its all about what your willing to spend really. i have toyo t1r's on mine and had them around 15k and the treat has lasted really well considering some people say theirs have lasted around 5 due to the rubber being a softer compound. I would highly recommend them.
have you tried what matt said with the cardboard? Mine was leaking around the same rate as yours and used to leave little pools under the car when parked up overnight. Turns out it was leaking from the water pump . As a temporary fix i used a bottle kseal and hasn't leaked since nor have i had...
tbh mine looks the same now its been lowered. it sits about 10mm off whereas beforehand it was flush and i know everything is tight as me and my mate fitted them.
i have the exact same knock mate. when i done the shocks and spring before xmas i replaced the top mounts and the arb drop link but yet it still knocks like mad over bumps and when accelerating. The only other thing i can think of is the arb bush thats worn?
yes mate they will need rewinding back in. i bought this kit when i done mine last year

Im sure yours wont have a pre cat then, mines a 53 plate and doesnt. if you are going to get a sports cat, i think you can get a spacer for the 02 sensor so you dont get an eml light.
well track rod ends have both been done and are ok so i know its not these. will check the arb bushes next.
will also check the wishbone bushes for play
