    Id agree with Slindborg - the MAP will be getting a very lumpy signal, especially if you have a 2.4 manifold... My car had flat-spots all over the place and ran mega-rich unless in open loop!

    Is the TB ported/polished? How is the car at idle - 750rpm, Responsive and smooth? Mine seemed to do some of what you described with an Inlet manifold air leak. I had the 1514 code, but not the other code however... Maybe worth a look?

    Smokey VX - Blue Smoke at 6000rpm - Help

    I always thought High RPM blue smoke is attributed to excessive blow-by from the piston rings. I just hope the bore isn't egged! Happened to one of my mates with a Honda VTEC. May be worth a punt and shouldnt be too hard if youve already had the pistons out!

    4000rpm+ is where the ECU switches to Open Loop (fixed fuelling parameters) if i remember correctly? Maybe when your car is operating in closed loop, the correct AFR isnt being provided... This could be due to a cracked exhaust pathway or a bad lambda sensor. Has the cold misfire disappeared...

    I'd stick a voltmeter across the injectors and see at which point they are firing (from switched off, switch on, warm up and give it a rev when sat still). Make sure they are indeed doing it at the correct time. My friend once had a dodgy map in his Honda Civic where the injectors randomly...
