Guys, what's a z22se engine worth ? 64,000 miles, fsh. Both chains & a new set of lifters June 08.

Mileage, history, and other than the stone chips any damage either as it stands, or previously repaired ??

I spoke to Mark at Autovaux, mentioned z22se, and he quoted me £6.29 each, £118.22 inc vat for 16

After fitting new chains and lifters my engine is really quiet, so quiet in fact that I can hear the powersteering pump making a bit of a racket ! Not too sure if it was making a noise before I changed the chains, but it's up to the mark with fluid, and I can't really see why it's noisy, it was...

I do too at the moment ! Haynes recommend replacing the bolt, but the car's barely moved since the lifters incident, so I'll order the correct one as soon as I can find the right part number.

Some discount :shock: Looks about right Mark, but the crank bolt 11589123 £2.76 +VAT wasn't the correct one for my Vectra B. 11589123 is roughly 2" long, and my crank bolt is about 6/7" long and half as big again in diameter ??

As promised, 16 OE spec lifters delivered this morning ! These are identical to my old ones (except these aren't stuck solid) so guess what Saturdays job is :roll: I'm getting quite a dab hand at the chain/cams removal/replacement !!

This is the section you altered to fit the Vectra Neil ? IS that a 2.5" 90 bend at the bottom ?

Re: WHAT ABOUT THIS EXHAUST MANIFOLD? Do you have any pics of the weapon R fitted to your Vectra Neil ? I emailed about postage to the UK, and was quoted $83 UPS to Canada ????? I've replied pointing out the Cornwall is still in the UK, and asked for another quote :roll:

I spoke to Mark from Autovaux this afternoon. A new set of followers has arrived from their suppliers, and he also has a comparison lifter from Vauxhall. He's confirmed that the 1st set supplied are incorrect, he can't explain why as the part numbers are correct, and the suppliers are unsure...

I spoke to Mark @ Autovaux this morning and I've emailed him the 2 pics of the lifters. He was aware that Vauxhall have a new part number for the lifters, and he said the Autovaux buy their lifters from the OE manufacturer, so there shouldn't be a difference, but he can see there's a problem...

I've had my Piper cams sitting around for a while, but I haven't had time to fit them. I thought my cam chain was getting a little noisy, but thinking that it was replaced 8,000 miles ago by VX, I just put it down to paranoia, but the more I listened for it, the more I heard it, so I made time...

OK, it's up and running, started 1st time :D On tickover it sounds great, but as the revs rises the rockers begin to tap. I've given it 20 minutes @ 2000 rpm to bed in the Piper cams, so I would assume the lifters are well and truly pumped up by now, but, and I'm not too sure if this has any...

It's a cam chain tensioner out of a z22se, and was fitted along with a complete cam chain kit by my local Vauxhall dealer approx 8,000 miles ago. The tensioner is exactly as removed from the engine, and I think the pics speak for themselves ?
