Urgent - quick question! Fuel regulator change

Hi all, really stupid question here, but I need to set off on a journey in the next hour so would really appreciate a quick response if someone can help -

I have a Z22YH and am trying to replace the fuel pressure regulator.

I've got the bolts off, should it just easily pull out then? It rotates fractionally inside the socket but I just can't pull it out. I removed the two fuel lines attached to it in case it was a pressure thing but still no dice. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here as I can't find anything online about anyone else struggling with this, I thought it should be an easy job! Frustrating to have a replacement part and not be able to install it!!

Thanks all!

Just remove the electrical plug on the top undo the 2 bolts either side and it should pull out easy.. If you want get a rag cloth and on the High pressure fuel pump on the right undo the black cap cover it with the rag and press in the schrouder valve (ball bearing) to release the fuel pressure in the rail see if that helps..

WHAT 2 fuel lines have you removed ??? there is none only on the fuel pump ?

Hmm, I yanked on it multiple times as hard as I could and it wouldn't budge out of there. Even got a screwdriver behind the lip (with bolts removed of course) for leverage and still wouldn't come out. Baffling. Any ideas?

The two fuel lines I removed come into the general vicinity rather than the reg itself, these two I've crudely drawn arrows to pictured here.

Ah I see . You shouldn't have to touch them ….Have you tried what I said about pressing the ball bearing in with a cloth over as If you don't release the pressure when you take off the regulator the pressure of the fuel will p**s out all over you try the fuel pump end first ?
This should be a 5 min job really (no stress)

Yes I did that, the regulator still wouldn't come out! I actually was doing this just after changing the fuel pump so I had the whole pump off anyway, so shouldn't be a pressure thing?

It would rotate in place a few degrees like I said (as much as the housing around it would allow it to turn) but I couldn't pull it out! Rather concerning!

Did you manage to remove the regulator, how?
I have the same problem with my regulator, which I fitted myself 5 years ago. So I know it should come out easily.
