i know a shop in alfreton(not far from me) that do some great paints at great prices, they didnt do gunmetal grey when i last went but now they do. so i could have got everything there for about £45 for all the primer top coat lacquer, sand paper the lot.

Look very good from the photos, and that's a good price. As for between coats depending on finish I may be temped for a very light flat back if at all sure another sprayer can advise, Its always when it comes to the lacquer I have an issue always get orange peel.

well iv got some top coat on the face, its abit rough to the touch, so gonna need a small amount of wet sanding with 2000grit i think between top coat and lacquer, iv used a full tin on 1 wheel but i might use abit more but im not sure yet al see after wet sanding

dont sand between base and lacquer :) the lacquer is clear any marks on the base well be sealed in by the lacquer to be seen for ever
a final quick dust coat before applying the lacquer is how i found to be the best way
then get a dusting of lacquer down then on the 2nd coat apply a thicker coat once your 2nd coat is down you can make the decision to wet sand with 2500 to get a flatter final coat or just apply a final coat then polish it back once dry :)

looking good so far :)

so i have 1 wheel finished, not bad 1 wheel in 2 days, so its only gonna take 8 days to do the set hahahaha.

the last image shows colour difference between standard and new colour(i know the alloys are odd
hahahah)

im leaving the centre caps silver to be opposite to how vauxhall do some alloys now(silver wheel with grey centre caps)

just need to give them a polish but i will leave that a few days to let the lacquer set solid.

That looks great mate not sure about the centre cap though like you say give it a few days lol
Did you do any filling? As in curb marks I resprayed my wheels last year for trax but didn't refurb them and they do need it

I couldnt resist fitting it

i love the look of the wheel but im not 100% sure its right for my car. the missis has said she likes them and that im keeping atleast that 1 grey.
they may look nicer with a bright caliper behind it.

disc looks all horrible as it hasnt moved for a few days,38.JPG 39.JPG

no i didnt need any filler, it was more corrosion, all blisteres everywhere. i think i went with the worst 1 first so hopefully the other 3 will be easier.

i think paint the caliper a bright orange and fit a few little bling things(not that i like chrome but it mite work)

like these valve stem covers

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-CHROME-...tyres_trims_Valve_Caps_ET&hash=item2eb8e65f6a

and the wheel bolt chrome caps

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20x-Alloy...Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item19eb467746
i like the chrome valve
the wheel nut caps are nice but you might damage your spray job when you need to take them out to take wheel off.

Looking good mate, the colour looks like it's matched the Irmscher i centre caps? Yellow callipers would look good IMO and a nice set of eibach -35's ;)

i like gloss black but everyone who wants a quick cheap wheel refurb goes black (cos the paints cheap and easier to get)so i wanted a quality looking job on a shoe string budget so thought it either has to be standard silver but thats just gonna look standard or gunmetal so gunmetal it is. i think i may need to do the centre caps but because i had to glue the badges on cos there off an insignia i may have trouble.
