Carl and his diy tools!
i broke my breaker bar and had to buy a new one but i do now have a 3/4 t-bar and 1/2 reducer for the stubborn buggersMy best DIY tool is a breaker bar made from a hoover handle
its trueIt's like a grown up version of Blue Peter... "Heres one I made earlier"
That's pretty much what happens with my tools. I bought the Halfords torque wrench....and have used it once when I changed the spark plugs (which I've done loads of times before without one!)its true
but if i can make it and save yourself money on tools that i will only need every now and again
if i was doing rear brakes every 3 months then that warrants the cost of buying one
maybe i should start making them and selling them one lol (not gonna happen)
lol i tryed to do that earlier i had a right giggle at myself my torque wrench only goes down to 30 NM was stood outside in the rain saying to myself ""how the fk am i sposed to measure 20nm""I bought the Halfords torque wrench....and have used it once when I changed the spark plugs (which I've done loads of times before without one!)
Ouch! It is nice having the correct tools. I ended up buying the Halfords Pro 50 piece set when I did the rear shocks, because they don't sell an E20 single, only as part of their larger 1/2" driver sets.I buy the right tools for the jobs as I've cut and hurt myself enough times :-/ Nearly lost an eye once slipping with a screwdriver
safety 1st gloves and glasses !
sounds like you need super overalls when working on cars

still you were lucky and you kept your sight we all do live and learnHaha, only it was a push bike! - 14 at the time, experimenting. Using a large flat headed screwdriver to remove the sprockets off the rear wheel of the bike. Kinda slipped and stabbed myself in the eye, no permement damage though. Had to wear eye patch for 3 months and sunglasses 6 months after that.
Full set orderedHow they can charge that is beyond me! Just realised that link is not for the Vxr. This one is http://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_23_64&products_id=18539. So you could get front and rear plus pads for cheaper that the fronts from countnay.
