Car misfiring HELP!!!

Hello everyone im new to your site!

Where do I start! I have done the pre-cat mod to my astra 2.2 its a x reg 2001, has anyone had a problem with there cars misfiring after you had carried out the mod? Because mine is!

i done mine a few weeks back and have no probs with it i get the odd pop but thats it 😃

Welcome to the site mate,

Check all the wiring around that area as the 2.2 has two sensors before and after the CAT, one may have come loose and upsetting the running of the engine.

as dodger said, check that both sensors are connected correctly. i have had no problems since removing mine.

Thanks for your help everyone and thanks for the warm welcome! Its ok the panic is over now (THANK GOD!) it was the exhaust joint where the down pipe meets the centre section it was blowing! so I put some exhaust paste round it and retightened the clamp. I also took my K&N 57i kit off to and put the old airbox back on it feels better throw the rev range, I have also booked it in at courtney sport to have a super chip, a panel filter and a vectra c intake pipe, has anyone had these mods done to there 2.2's and did it feel any quicker?

to be honest mate i would fit the veccy c pipe yourself veryeast to do 😃

Yer I had a look at the pipe and it does look easy but courtney said they would do it all for £350 is that cheap?

I would say that £350 is a good price. A SuperChip fitted is £299 on its own so I reckon thats a great deal.

i dont think the vec c pipe is a good mod havent seen any reports that it gives more bhp.....(now some one will post one lol) .the shape of the pipe is designed to swirl the air and give a better air mix and speed into the cylinder ....the vec c has swirl actuation in the manifold so no need for the pipe to be shaped like a vec b ......if some one can show me it is a good mod i will be doing it ..........lol but the breather pipe makes me worry about my nice clean engine bay lol
