i would go bmw mate, a 325 or a 328 will still have more power that a 2.2 vauxhall, will still drive better handle better,they arent expensive to run or service ive had 2, i know, parts are no more than vx try eurocarparts. and there is plenty of specialists to service it.
or what about a honda accord type r, 2.2 - 212bhp 0-60 6.5. you can get a 01 or 02 plate on your budget. plus they go like fuck and are supposed to be one of the best handling front wheel drive cars on the road. and honda reliability.
