custom exhaust

I got a quote from powerflow the other day. they will do a 200cell cat and 2.5inch cat-back exhaust with a choise of tail pipe for around £600
should take a day, i was told i would get around 18bhp.

I have taken my pre-cat out already that would have been an extra £50 £60 by powerflow

Any ideas or advice???? :thumbup:

i got a power flow system seems ok to me. get to make you a down pipe asw ell then will be even better. £600 is a good price including cat. is it a twin out let system or a single?
now just waiting for jonny to come along and say they are shit 😃 and go for a miltek

its for a single out let. i want to get as much power as i can. what power did you get from a power flow system?

i got a twin outlet,
mine is a 2.5" 200cell cat to a 2.5"in to back box then 2" out of the back box to the tail pipes

I doubt you will get 18 bhp from a cat back system on a z22se, usually its about 5 bhp

that looks really smart. i mite stick with the single pipe there are so many choice's.... by the way the smooth tailgate looks really good was it easy to do? i did it to my first corsa i just found the paint job the hardest part 😃

the paint was easy the flushing the boot was the pain in the arse.

I would go as far to say as there ain't NO WAY you will acheive 18bhp gain from an exhaust. That would be the most bang per buck in the world!!

As Vocky has already said, 5bhp tops. The likes of Milltek and Magnex, Sebring and Jetex go to huge lengths to get the correct tune of an exhaust with millions spent on design and testing.

I can only speak from experience regarding exhausts and I have had a custom system fitted and I have now a performance system fitted. I would not say that the Powerflow is crap but I would say that it will not give the gains that you can expect from the likes of the big companies.

im getting a 200 cell sports cat and gonna remove the precat. i've also got a custom cat back system from powerflow. which includes the middle box, then splits to twin exit (bit like sdbutler10)
but was thinking about maybe removing the middle silencer. what you guys think? is it there for a speacial reason or just noise reduction? so if i was to remove it would i gain any bhp or would it just make it Ridiculously loud?

Some people say removing the middle box makes a difference, others say not. I removed it on my 1.6 Astra, and put it back in as it was too loud with aftermarket back box. Sjdickso has it removed with Irmscher box, and it sounds sweet.

i have no center silencer on my car just a back box i also have a 200 cell cat on as well and the noise is fine on my car. and also got some good gains in power
